The impact of UX research

It is not enough to introduce them only at later stages of development; rather, adopting a proactive approach towards these principles and practices ensures impact.

Since its inception, Thirdbridge has considered the research phase as a crucial step in the design process of a digital product. With this approach, we move from simply developing graphical user interfaces (UI) to delivering a complete and optimal user experience.

Unfortunately, research is a step that is often neglected and sometimes even ignored. Let us explain the importance of focusing on it before writing any line of code.

Conducting UX Research

User research allows us to understand the behaviors, needs, and expectations of users related to a product or service, in order to best tailor their experience with it. Integrated into the design cycle (UX Design), research aims to collect qualitative and quantitative data that will adapt the product to its users.

Some Advantages of UX Research

Resource Savings:

Conducting user research as early as possible allows for the identification of real needs and the design of useful and effective solutions, or better planning for the optimization of functionalities already implemented or planned. Such errors can prove costly in time and money—back-and-forth corrections, retention efforts with dissatisfied users, etc.

Design Optimization:

UX research helps identify friction points in the experience and propose optimal optimizations to correct them. Issues with ergonomics, readability, or understanding instructions are examples that can harm the experience and need to be adjusted quickly. This approach allows us to provide relevant, satisfying, and enjoyable solutions to use, while also eliminating unnecessary or ineffective elements.

Focus on Satisfaction and Loyalty:

Because it allows us to understand users' needs, expectations, and preferences, conducting user research contributes to designing relevant and adapted solutions—and therefore more satisfying and pleasant to use!

Users satisfied with their experience are naturally more inclined to remain loyal to a product or brand, speak positively about it to those around them, and encourage others to use it.

Conducting UX research is the cornerstone of designing all digital products developed at Thirdbridge. This approach has allowed us to create tailored digital experiences that fully meet the specific needs of users and concretely contribute to the development of our clients—and we are very proud of it.
