Thirdbridge is more than proud to be able to support a project and individuals full of promise.
Nearly a decade ago, our technical director and co-founder, Nicolas, was a software engineering student at Polytechnique Montréal. Required to undertake a professional internship as part of his university curriculum, Nicolas opted to blend work with enjoyment by seeking the opportunity to work on his own start-up, a project he had launched with his longtime friend Pierre-Étienne, who is now the company's president. It was the first time that the staff at Polytechnique had received such a request.
But believing in the potential of their students in the entrepreneurial world, they quickly agreed to support Nicolas in what turned out to be the very first internship of the university's entrepreneurial internship programs. Since that day, Polytechnique has developed, structured, and supervised a program that supports student entrepreneurs in the development of their personal business projects. Students are guided through the process of developing a business model, practicing the famous sales pitch, and other concepts related to the business world.
We are more than grateful to Polytechnique and their flexibility, which allowed Nicolas to work on this project and thus lay the foundations of today's Thirdbridge. In recognition and support of the program built since then, we made the decision to partner with Polytechnique to encourage students who, like us, work in a field and on projects they are passionate about. Thus, on April 9th, the very first Thirdbridge scholarship in the amount of $8,000 was awarded to a team whose values, ideas, and ambitions charmed us during the entrepreneurial internship scholarship awards.
Nadine, Sarah, and Chaymae are therefore the very first recipients of the Thirdbridge scholarship. Our team particularly favored them due to their project aligning closely with one of Thirdbridge's core principles: innovation.
The three young women have developed an idea that will revolutionize the scientific education of our youth. They offer educational robotics kits including all the necessary parts to build robots as well as instructions for doing so and, in more advanced cases, programming them. The kits are suitable for all ages and levels and are the ideal solution for holding such workshops even during confinement.
The Thirdbridge scholarship will allow the three young entrepreneurs to realize their project on a larger scale and to conduct the necessary market studies so that the product meets the needs and demands that are more than present. Pierre-Étienne will even act as a mentor throughout the summer to guide the winners in the world of entrepreneurship.
Thirdbridge is more than proud to be able to support a project and individuals full of promise.
