Fenplast
Summary
Fenplast, a Quebec-based manufacturer of high-end doors and windows, had relied for more than 20 years on an Extranet that had become central to managing its distributor network. Over time, this critical platform had fallen significantly behind from a technological standpoint. In collaboration with Thirdbridge, the company transformed this aging tool into a modern, scalable, and user-centered Extranet capable of supporting its growth and long-term digital ambitions.

Challenge
Fenplast’s legacy Extranet formed the backbone of its operations. It enabled distributors to generate quotes through Solumax Web, convert them into orders, and access price lists, promotions, and marketing materials. However, over the years, the platform had become increasingly difficult to maintain, with fragile compatibility across modern browsers, a complex architecture marked by numerous interdependencies, an improvable user experience, and a strong reliance on internal support for simple tasks.
Fenplast needed to modernize this strategic tool without disrupting the daily operations of its extensive distributor network, while ensuring that the new platform genuinely addressed the on-the-ground needs of its users.

Solution
Thirdbridge supported Fenplast in stabilizing and finalizing the redesign of its Extranet by adopting a user-centered and long-term approach. Interviews and surveys helped identify real pain points, including inefficient search, multi-account management challenges, and limited profile autonomy, which in turn guided development priorities.
From a technical standpoint, the architecture was streamlined and modernized to improve stability and maintainability. A flexible CMS was integrated, enabling the creation of customizable views tailored to each retailer while avoiding structural duplication. This modular approach reduces technical overhead, simplifies the onboarding of new partners, and prepares the platform for a future multi-entity model.
Launched in January 2025, the new Extranet restores autonomy to distributors, reduces support requests, and once again becomes a performance driver for the organization. More than a simple technological upgrade, the project marks the beginning of a new digital era for Fenplast, built on listening, collaboration, and an evolving long-term vision.
