Challenge

Our team recently had the pleasure of collaborating with the emergency and specialty centers of Vet et Nous—three veterinary hospitals open 24/7 that collectively offer more than 10 different veterinary specialties. With a high volume of referrals coming from local veterinary clinics and hospitals across the province, they needed a digital solution to streamline communication between referring veterinarians and specialists, while also addressing the common questions of teams referring their patients.

Although a fully integrated artificial intelligence solution was initially considered, the analysis conducted with Vet et Nous demonstrated that a more pragmatic approach would deliver better value for cost. Rather than developing a fully custom-built tool, Thirdbridge recommended adapting Intercom and implementing a conversational agent.

Using automated workflows, the solution answers frequently asked questions and routes more specific inquiries to the appropriate resource. Quick to deploy, reliable, and scalable, this approach reduces development and maintenance costs while meaningfully improving communication between referring veterinarians and specialists—without adding unnecessary complexity to Vet et Nous’ technology ecosystem.
