Developing a platform aimed at optimizing the maintenance and performance of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

The project

ReliOn is developing a platform aimed at optimizing the maintenance and performance of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The long-term goal is ambitious: to enable automatic detection of faulty chargers, identify the root cause, generate an intervention ticket, and track its resolution — reducing repair times from several weeks to just a few days.
To lay the foundation for this vision, our team initiated a first design phase to create wireframes for an initial MVP version. This first iteration aimed to illustrate a minimal process: allowing operators to manually report an issue, create a ticket, select the affected charger, document the details, and assign the task to a technician for resolution. These wireframes served as tools to present the project to investors and demonstrate the solution’s value: accelerating and simplifying incident management for a functional and reliable charging network.

The challenges

ReliOn continued its development with a new UX/UI design mandate, focused on enhancing and evolving the platform. The objective: to add new features that better meet the growing needs of network operators and administrators, while supporting the company’s funding strategy.
The second project phase focused on designing clear, detailed dashboards that allow users to monitor the health of each charger, track the performance of an entire network, and explore granular insights via detailed screens: evaluation sheets, recent activity, connectivity, and usage data. The challenge here was to prioritize essential information, given the limited screen space, in order to avoid visual clutter.
To bring these features to life, the design team led the research, analysis, information architecture, and creation of visual mockups for both dashboards and detailed views. The goal: to deliver an experience that is both intuitive and efficient, giving operators and administrators a clear understanding of the state of their equipment so they can act quickly when needed.

A Platform in Progress

ReliOn is embracing a step-by-step approach: quickly validating a concept through a focused MVP, then enriching the user experience at every stage while staying aligned with real-world needs.
With these new features, operators and administrators can now monitor equipment performance in real time and intervene more efficiently. Every evolution of the project contributes to building a comprehensive solution, designed to support the reliability of charging infrastructure and accompany the growth of electric mobility.
