The impact of UX research

Integrating user experience (UX) principles and practices into the software or application development process has become crucial.

It is not enough to introduce them only at later stages of development; rather, a proactive approach towards these principles and practices is needed to ensure an impact.
Since its inception, Thirdbridge has considered the research phase as a crucial step in the digital product design process. With this approach, we move from merely developing graphical user interfaces (UI) to creating a complete and optimal user experience.
Unfortunately, research is a step that is often neglected and sometimes even ignored. Let us explain the importance of focusing on it before starting to write any lines of code.

Conducting UX Research:

User research allows us to understand user behaviors, needs, and expectations related to a product or service, in order to better tailor their experience with it. Integrated into the design cycle (UX Design), research aims to gather qualitative and quantitative data that will help adapt the product to its users.

Some Benefits of UX Research:

Resource Savings:
Conducting user research as early as possible helps identify real needs and design useful and effective solutions or better plan the optimization of already implemented or planned features. Such errors can be costly in terms of time and money – back-and-forth corrections, efforts to retain dissatisfied users, etc.
Design Optimization:
UX research helps identify friction points in the experience and propose optimal improvements to address them. Ergonomics issues, readability problems, or comprehension of instructions… These are examples of things that can hinder the experience and need to be quickly adjusted. This approach allows for providing relevant, satisfactory, and enjoyable solutions, as well as eliminating unnecessary or ineffective elements.
Focus on Satisfaction and Retention:
Because it allows us to understand users’ needs, expectations, and preferences, conducting user research contributes to designing relevant and tailored solutions – and thus more satisfying and enjoyable to use!
Users who are satisfied with their experience are naturally more inclined to stay loyal to a product or brand, speak positively about it, and encourage others to use it.
Conducting UX research is the cornerstone of designing all digital products developed at Thirdbridge. This approach has allowed us to create well-tailored digital experiences that meet the specific needs of users and significantly contribute to our clients' development – and we are very proud of it.
